Beezy's

This is a wonderful breakfast spot in ypsi, where all the good food seems to be today! Super delicious and super cheap.

I loved my soup as usual. It was a wonderful veggie soup with brussel sprouts really can't ask for more. It had some kind of wonderful coriander taste to it that really made it great.

For my main I enjoyed the gravy plate which had all of your regular breakfast goods coated with a layer of wonderful gravy!!

For drinks I'd suggest the vanilla latte which goes really well with the intelligentsia coffee they serve.

B had a really pretty plate of French toast and Daniel had an amazing chorizo scramble yum!!!

We will definitely be coming back to this place.

Roasted mackerel

This was SO yummy. My mom used to roast fish with chilies inside. I crave it once and awhile and I think this was a pretty good version of the dish.

I bought a mackerel from the kerrytown fish market. This fish is fairly sustainable since it is rather resilient and if you get one from canada they practice sustainable fishing laws. The chili sauce for the fish was made with jalapeños from our very own plants in our apt. They were amazing in the fish.

0. Preheat oven to 500F. Place cooking pan in oven to heat
1. Rub inside and outside of fish with salt.
2. Blend 1 large jalapeño pepper, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 small shallot with a little water and a dash of salt until coarse
3. Fill cavity of mackerel with chili mix
4. Drizzle olive oil over both sides of fish
5. Place fish in oven on hot pan. It will sizzle!
6. Close door quickly and turn down to 450F
7. Cook for 20-25 minutes. Check eyes if they are white then it's done!
8. Take pan out of oven set to cool for a few minutes
9. Slide fish off pan with a couple I spatulas. Be careful the skin may be stuck to the pan
10. Enjoy with some rice and veggies!
